Ah, a quiet dinner alone. I much prefer those than going out with friends somewhere crowded. I understand the Way of the Sted. It goes without saying that you have an open invite to join me back here for a drop into Lulu's Noodles (look it up) or Mad Mex (again, look it up) anytime you are in Pittsburgh. - J.

I can really identify with this entry. I'm so happy that my husband understands my need to have alone time. I don't think we would survive otherwise because I've definitely lost friends over the years who just didn't understand.

I completely understand. My husband expressed it to me in terms of energy. He is an extrovert and gets his energy by being around people and being social. I get my energy by having time to myself. I enjoy being social, but find it tiring. I need time afterwards, by myself, to recharge. And yeah, there is no reason to feel bad about it. Just different operating systems.

There's nothing wrong with eating in restaurants alone. I do it all the time. Although when one has to wait for their order to be prepared, I would prefer chatting with others to bide the time.

That's probably why I like eating at Olive Garden. They take your order shortly after you are seated. Shortly after bringing out your beverage, they serve the salad and breadsticks even when they packed with customers. :) TGI Fridays and Applebees made me wait with nothing to do except to check out their memorabilia on the walls or stare out the window at the nearby interstate. :(

Damned dyslexia...I read your first line as "kritters night", and started looking for stories about people bringing their pets to the cafe. I knew something was wrong when you started talking about yarn, and I went back and reread the sentence :-)
