things i like about today

  1. I slept nearly ten hours, almost straight, last night. Unfortunately, I had to take a tranquilizer for this to happen, which can’t be a regular occurrence, but it was so nice.
  2. I finally bought a new Lamy Vista fountain pen, to replace the one I bought in Amsterdam that not a month later someone at work borrowed, sat on, and crushed into a hundred shards of clear plastic.
  3. I am wearing the suit I bought in Amsterdam, black cotton moleskin, now that it’s been hemmed and darted and whatnot. It’s so comfy.
  4. My Fluevog boots are finally broken in! They are extremely nice to walk in now, even though they barely have a heel so I am readjusting to really being this short.
  5. I am almost half-way through a six-day workweek!
  6. Nothing major has gone wrong at work today. Yet.
  7. I like this Salon interview with Iain Banks.
  8. An English professor at work is willing to be another reader for my male-perspective short story. Plus he’s male.
  9. I realized today that, on a daily basis, I write in four different Moleskine notebooks.

About Halsted M. Bernard

Halsted, a/k/a cygnoir, does stuff with words. Her favourite things to do with words are keeping this diary, writing stories, and organising information. She lives in Edinburgh with her husband, two cats, a few gadgets, several fountain pens, and many books.

…’Sted, that’s funny — I just bought a pair of Fluevog Mary Janes. :) I’ve never worn them before, they’re quite comfy! Yay, shoes and suits. Yay, almost through the work-week. Yay, new pens. :)

    In other words…yay!

I am glad to read that no galaxies have exploded in your universe, at least not lately. I hate it when that happens in mine. … ;-) … lol … If you are still looking for male readers, I would volunteer.
