You know it’s a good therapy session when you walk out a little woozy and nauseated.conservatory 'sted

It’s on.

I’m posting this photo to remind me that once I get over the beaten-up feeling, there are good days in the sunshine like this one just waiting for me. Tomorrow, even. Thanks, César.

iPod love: “Clean Sheets” by Descendents. Those sheets are dirty, and so are you. Yeah.

That picture would be hot even if I didn’t already know you’re a librarian.

[no one ever said that about me when I was a librarian...]

The only thing better than remembering that the good days are ahead is your “it’s on” attitude about it.

kick butt.

Remember, dearest Sted, that there are millions of smiles out there just waiting to jump out and get ya! And just to illustrate a point…

Fifteen days ago, I read that smoking can kill you;
The next day I stopped smoking.

Twelve days ago, I read that too much red meat can kill you; The next
day I stopped eating red meat..

Eight days ago, I read that drinking can kill you;
The next day I stopped drinking.

Yesterday, I read that having sex can kill you; This morning I stopped
reading.

oh ‘stedlet,

you are beautiful.

and i hate therapy for the way i feel when i leave. sometimes frustrated (but it lasts too long), sometimes elated (but it never lasts), and sometimes woozy (but it isn’t so bad).

if you ever feel really bad and want to feel better, you should go hang out with my parents. at least you can leave thanking the dear lord that they aren’t yours. *smile*

Endure. :) Not in the sense of something unpleasant that will never end…but that you, my dear, are not caving in. You will endure.

Holy cow, that’s one awesome picture! It must have been taken by a truly brilliant photographer. You’re so lucky to have one around to take such a perfect picture!

i always, always treat myself to something special after therapy. If it’s been a gentle session then it’s maybe the extra large version of my favourite juice. If it’s been a full on woozy session then a movie, sushi and juice are all on the agenda.

hugs to you

the last time i was in therapy, before each session i found myself simultaneously dreading the session and being incredibly eager to get there. it’s incredibly exhausting (and often confusing) work, but feng shui for the psyche is always a good thing.

it helps me to remember what my favorite yoga teacher said– that yoga isn’t about pushing forward in consistent improvement, and you will have good yoga days and bad yoga days, and they’re all valuable. what matters is acknowledging the materials available to you right now and choosing what to create from them. there will even be days when you are incapable of creation, and you know what? that’s okay, too. just be true to the space in which you find yourself.

*hugs*
