I've only just tasted a bit on my finger a couple times when I've been nearby because (1) C'est tres cher -- something like $14 for a few ounces, iirc. (2) salt is not a good thing for me and I know if I bought a small jar of truffle salt I'd be taking "just a taste" all day long in addition to sprinkling it on tomatoes, pasta, chicken, whatever. ... but it is <em>so</em> delish. I've been swallowing a lot of it lately. I like to pretend I'm doing it with some grace, though. Also, in addition to truffles being delicious, I add truffle oil to pratically anything I can. The first time I had truffle oil, I swear I nearly had an orgasm in the restaurant. I highly recommend it with cheese related foods. Humility is a pretty tough pill to swallow sometimes.
