Next month will be my fourteenth anniversary of keeping an online journal. When people ask me why I do this, I have less and less of an answer. I also feel compelled to add that I keep a paper journal, as if that justifies something.

It doesn’t, really. But this intangible place has changed my life. You, by participating, have changed my life.

Whereas my paper journal is a record, this is a conversation. I’m writing, and I’m listening. Thank you.
