We met friends at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society today for lunch, and I ordered the haggis, neeps (turnips, a/k/a swedes), and tatties (potatoes). I don’t know where my mind was because I’ve been avoiding potatoes for a couple of weeks now to see if I have a nightshade allergy, but I ate some of the potatoes in this dish before realising it. Although lunch was delicious, I’ve been feeling awful all evening. Since I regularly eat haggis with no trouble, there might be something to my suspicion of the nightshade allergy. Dammit. I really wanted to be wrong.
