Saturday was a blur of preparation, excitement, nervousness, joy, and finally a deep and contented exhaustion. Before the ceremony, I was rehearsing my reading in a corner of the reception area when I finally noticed how everything was coming together around me.
It was a privilege and a wonder to see so many people who love our friends so much, and especially to witness how they all played a part in creating such a perfect day. After the celebration was over, the wedding party retired to the rental house and chatted a while, still revelling in the last moments of each other’s company. Some of us were so happy and comfortable that we dozed off. (Okay, that was just me.)
