Recently one of my professors addressed the class with a little virtual teatime. Apparently, some classmates contacted her about not being able to keep up with the workload and deadlines, and so she made some executive decisions about the syllabus that couldn’t have been easy. She framed all of it in a compassionate and lighthearted way with virtual tea and biscuits.

I felt relieved, but also guilty, because we had all gotten away with something that felt a lot like weakness.
