Tonight I made salmon with an almond-meal crust topped with caramelized onions. (O, aroma of caramelizing onions, I missed you!) I roasted some Brussels sprouts on the side, and FunkyPlaid and I enjoyed our meal with a glass of white wine on the front porch.

I am slowly getting used to cooking in our new kitchen. The overly-sensitive smoke alarm didn’t go off this time, and this recipe turned out the best I’ve ever made it.

If I may be so bold as to share a cooking tip with you: invest in a seasoning called Gateway to the North. My mom introduced me to this years ago and it is my go-to for roasted vegetables. And popcorn. And tuna salad. And pretty much anything.
